What happens to your photo

Kiss4Peace is a small art project by Lumora Build. This page explains, in plain words, what we keep when you make a kiss and how to remove it. Last updated September 15, 2026.

Who Kiss4Peace is for

Kiss4Peace is for adults, 18 or older. Before you share a photo, you confirm that you are 18 or older and that the photo is of you. A photo sent without that confirmation is refused and not stored.

This is your own confirmation, not an age check: we don’t ask for ID and we can’t verify anyone’s age.

What we store

• Your photo. The half you share, resized to at most 1080 pixels.
• Your message, if you write one (up to 240 characters).
• A country, worked out from your network connection by Cloudflare. We don’t use GPS and we don’t store a city or street.
• A salted hash of your IP address, used for rate limiting, for reports, and to make sure you are never paired with your own photo. We don’t store the IP address itself.
• Face geometry numbers: where the eyes, nose, mouth and chin sit in the photo. They are used only to line the two halves up. They are not used to recognise anyone.
• A delete key. Your browser keeps a secret key for your photo; we store only a hash of it.

The face check that decides whether a photo shows one clear face runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded until you press “Share my half”.

Where it is stored

On Cloudflare: the photo in Cloudflare R2 storage, everything else in a Cloudflare D1 database. We don’t sell or share any of it.

What is public

• Your half may be paired with future visitors, not just the person you first meet. If your partner deletes their photo, your half goes back to waiting and can be paired with someone new.
• Every kiss has its own page with the combined picture, the countries and any messages. Kisses can appear in the public gallery.
• Photos are served from a public web address (cdn.kiss4peace.com) so the kiss can be drawn in the browser. Anyone who has that address can open the photo.
• The first kisses in the gallery were made from portraits and test photos when the project launched. They are marked “Launch sample”.

How to delete your photo

On the device you shared the photo from, open your kiss (or your waiting page) and choose Delete my photo. Your photo and every kiss it is part of are removed straight away. Copies kept by browsers or the content delivery network can take up to a day to expire; photos shared before September 15, 2026 can stay in those caches for longer.

If you can’t use that device, or you shared a photo before the delete button existed, open the kiss and choose Report. When one of the two people in a kiss reports it, it is hidden from the gallery right away; when anyone else does, it is hidden once several people have reported it.

Please only share your own face

Share a photo of yourself, not someone else, and not a screenshot of another picture. Never upload a photo of anyone under 18.

If you see a kiss that shows someone under 18, or someone who didn’t share their own photo, open it and choose Report. Reports hide it: right away when one of the two people in the kiss reports it, and once several people have reported it otherwise.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to count visits and to see which steps of the site people use, like starting the camera or sharing a kiss. We never send your photo, your message or your delete key to it.
